Director’s Word

33Nanaksar Thath Isher Darbar, a religious body under the Chairmanship of Sant Baba Amar Singh Ji (Barundi wale) opened a co-educational school at Chhapar, District- Ludhiana in 1979 with an initial strength of 200 students. Over the years it gained in strength. The school began to attract admissions from Ahmedgarh and far-away villages. Initially it was affiliated with the Punjab School Education Board. With its excellent results in Class 10, the management took the decision of starting Medical and Non-Medical classes. This was done in 1995. Taking into consideration those rural students had little openings or opportunities in the world of business, a Commerce Wing was started in 1997. The Commerce Wing has had tremendous response ever since. The school was proud of the fact that it laid the foundations of future Chartered Accountants, Managers of Banks and Insurance Companies. The world of commerce opened new vistas to our aspiring rural youth. The teaching staff of Anand Isher Senior Secondary School worked hard to reach out to both the urban and rural and offer them a comprehensive education in this discipline.
The school was proud of Asha Pritpal Kaur who was the first student who qualified as an MBBS doctor. Then it was Poonam Batra who won the gold medal in BVSc at PAU, Ludhiana. Namita Goel stood first in Punjab State in the XII class Board Examination. Besides these excellent results in academics the school won many laurels n the field of sports. At a sports meet of 28 schools, Anand Isher Public School stood topper competing amongst the best schools of Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar. The school is also proud of its NCC Wing which to date has had the honour and pride of sending two cadets to participate at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. The 19th Punjab Battalion NCC Ludhiana indeed is proud of the school’s contribution at the National Level.
It is also satisfying to note that our students score well in IELTS which helps and enables them to qualify for colleges/universities abroad. The school indeed in all humility takes pride in giving shape to the aspirations of both urban and rural students who have with considerable ease enrolled in the best colleges and other institutes of learning both in India and abroad.
On behalf of our competent and dedicated staff, I humbly thank Sant Baba Amar Singh Ji for opening this school and making good education available at affordable rates. I pray for the school’s continued success in all its future endeavours.
